Our Wellbeing Project is funded by the Welsh Government Green Recovery Fund and is delivered by a specialist health coach and an environmental conservation officer. It provides a variety of activities with both officers, such as walks, conservation workshops and gardening. We want to get people involved with nature to benefit well-being and biodiversity, because both are becoming increasingly important.
We are working with a variety of partners and councils to connect people of all ages and abilities with the nature around them. Each session is tailored to the individuals involved to ensure everyone is happy with the activity and able to take part.
We are delivering a number of interventions which include:
- Structured 6-week health coaching with an emphasis on connecting participants with nature.
- This could centre on physical activity (e.g. led walking groups – nature walks: teaching about different species of bird, tree or flowers etc.) or conservation projects (e.g. gardening, building hedgehog homes, bug hotels, bird boxes).
- Less structured one off activities or events such as open walks or conservation projects for anyone in the community to join.
All activities are free!
